Haiku Holidays

Dear family and friends,

It's been far too long since I wrote on this blog. Of course, many of you get our status updates on Facebook or hear about us through other channels. However, in the spirit of "microblogging," I decided to do something a bit different this time: a series of haikus to describe our year. Not surprisingly, most of the updates are kid-focused. (Adam and I are doing fine, thanks, in case you're wondering.)

Happy holidays, and enjoy the poetry!

Fireworks and Legos
Ringing in two-thousand-ten;
The ball dropped at 9.

Really, really cold;
Sledding, snowmen, and no school:
Snowpocalypse Now.

Noah's mouth was small,
His palate was expanded.
Now he is em-"brace"-d.

Pesach in Boston
Then spring break in Maryland:
A bloomin' good time.

Tumbling on the grass,
Noah fell on Jonah's arm.
Cast of character.

A week in the west,
Sequoias and waterfalls.
"Yosemite Fam"

"Camp" in Bethesda
With two extra attendees:
GR & GB!

The school year starts, then...
Switch to first (and fifth for math).

Chicago weekend--
GGMama and "the trips."
Happy Thanksgiving!

*Jonah started the year in Kindergarten but switched to first grade in November (along with accelerated reading and second grade math); Noah's in third grade and accelerated reading, but he tested into fifth grade math in October. Both are enjoying the challenge.
